Day Hole In Tong

Well This is a snippit of a report for me but wanted to get some info on this place which to be honest will be more than hopeless as she was dug after WW2 some time in the miners strike, A reet sod of a job getting in as barb wire all over the entrance !, not the usual crap easily cut through either !!!, cost me a bloody good pair of jeans.....but well worth a little peek inside her with only 1 torch and no back up, no elmet and no one knowing where i was let alone down a mine on my own (fek breaking all the rules in my book !) off I had to go for a smootch......god I live for this shit !.

As I shon the torch down her she's dug about 35 degrees downhill brick walled to start with above ya head rotten woods and collaps all over the floor is also partially bricked and by the looks its to help pull up tubs over as there were no rails in her apart from 1 very slim, but it was not fixed down or even looked as if it should have been there ! the air was fair to good but very hazy with damp and as I went further in the only thing on my mind was fire damp so no more than 5 mins in and a few snaps out I came.....
She's there .....some where !!!

Rotting woods all around...

Around 3 feet wide and 4 to 4 1/2 feet high.....
Further in the air was very hazy...

Bricks on the floor for sled runs, the angle of decent was
in between 25 to 35 degrees...

One of the bricks from the sled floor...

Collaps  all around.....

A single thin rail...but it does not look right where it is !.

Final look at the roof before coming out...

A small amount of time has passed and a re visit had to be done.........time to finish her off.....

Remains of the door and latch...

A lonely pipe from above in the farmers field...

Animal remains are all around...

Small rails sticking out of the floor covered in collapse

Head of an axe...

Looking in  Hmmmmmmmm nice !...

She's about 15 feet wide and 10 feet high...

A view out into the world again at the other end
and damage in the lower wall

Once back out we showed the nice bloke to which he
replied right I'm off to the council as there is damage to
my property and that was the last we saw of him...
